How to use the polite form in Italian

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog!

This week’s lesson is on how to use the polite form in Italian, that is “dare del lei”. I thought I would talk about this since you asked for it!

Buona visione! 🙂

  1. Grazie ancora per i video. Una domanda:
Si capitalizza la prima lettera quando si utilizzala la forma formale”
“Come sta Lei?” invece di “Come sta lei?” o non importa oggi.
Chiedo perché devo scrivere lettere in italiano.
    Grazie in anticipo,

    guy

  2. This was a great lesson even if much of the Italian was over my head. I got the gist (main idea) of it though. I was wondering if you might be able to go back and make a note (perhaps in this blog) about formal speech and the use of La. For instance, “piacere di conocerLa.” In this example, Lei is not used and instead “La” refers to “you.” Can you shed some light on the reason behind formal speech like this? Looking forward to digesting more of your past videos as I wait for your next one.

Speak your mind!
