Difficult Sounds to Pronounce #2: the sound GN

Hello guys 🙂 Are you ready for a new lesson??? Today I would like to teach you how to pronounce the sound GN, which can be quite tricky for non native speakers. A very similar (could even say identical) sound in another language would be the sound ñ in Spanish. A word that you know for sure is LASAGNA and it contains this sound. Watch the video for pronunciation and examples 🙂 Let me know what you think by leaving a comment below 🙂

A presto ♥

  1. Well, I think you should explain the articulatory phonetics of the gn sound (meaning how you physically make the sound). Describing things like “your tongue must touch the roof of your mouth and push out” is a good idea. I teach English to Italians and I often need to explain the phonetics by showing them exactly how my mouth is moving so they can understand difficult pronunciations like “th”
