Lesson 5 – Days of the Week and Months of the Year


Hello guys 🙂 How are you?
Ciao a tutti 🙂 Come va?
Today it’s going to be a vocabulary lesson: days of the week and months of the year. Hope you enjoy!
Days of the week = giorni della settimana
  • Monday = lunedì              il lunedì vado a scuola = On Monday, I go to school
  • Tuesday = martedì           il martedì faccio la spesa = On Tuesday, I do my grocery shopping
  • Wednesday = mercoledì      il mercoledì vado in palestra = On Wednesday, I go to the gym
  • Thursday = giovedì          il giovedì dipingo = On Thursday, I paint
  • Friday = venerdì              il venerdì esco con gli amici = On Friday, I go out with friends
  • Saturday = sabato           il sabato vado in discoteca = On Saturday, I go to the disco
  • Sunday = domenica        la domenica sto con la mia famiglia = On Sunday, I stay with my family
N.B. in Italian, days do not start with capital letters!
Months of the year = mesi dell’anno
  • January = gennaio
  • February = febbraio
  • March = marzo
  • April = aprile
  • May = maggio
  • June = giugno
  • July = luglio
  • August = agosto
  • September = settembre
  • October = ottobre
  • November = novembre
  • December = dicembre
N.B same thing, no capital letters in Italian!
  • Seasons: winter, spring, summer, autumn
  • Stagioni: inverno, primavera, estate, autunno

  1. Yes, both Italian and Spanish are Romance languages (aka Neo-Latin languages)! As far as vocabulary is concerned, many things are similar 🙂
